AI Update
So I talked to James. After getting to the Alamo Dome at 4am he then had to sit in there and finally got to audition at 3pm. He did see see friends there also but none of them made it past the first round. Apparently there are 3 rounds a few weeks apart. In this round you sing for the producers, in a few weeks the ones that made it thru sing again in front of exec. producers, then a few weeks later they see the judges. Crazy huh. Well James felt good but his auditioner told him he had a great voice but not what they were looking for this year. Its OK he will still be my American Idol.

I'm sorry J did not make it further, but it is amazing that he was willing to try! I wouldn't have, either at my age now or at his age. Wow. We are proud of him. You too, of course.

I wouldn't have tried it either. That would be scary! Sorry he didn't make it, but I hope he had fun trying anyway!
